In the month of Black History Month, every month is Black History Month

Sweet Auburn district of downtown Atlanta houses the APEX (African American Panoramic Experience) Museum. A museum dedicated entirely to African American history promotes cultural awareness and the contributions of African Americans to Georgia.

The APEX Museum offers a variety of reasons to visit

This museum features stories about the Atlanta's first black-owned business and pioneer, as well as baseball lore, local history and video clips at the Trolley Theater.

African American artifacts, photographs, children's shows, presentations, and more can be found in Atlanta's APEX Museum.

Exhibits at the APEX Museum aim to create a personal connection between the visitors and the artifacts, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of a time period that may be unfathomable to them today.

Many people are aware of the druggist who invented Atlanta's famous soda. APEX Museum also features a museum on Moses Amos, Atlanta's first black pharmacist.

The exhibit Africa: The Untold Story at the museum includes logs listing the name, age, and value of enslaved individuals.

The APEX Museum displays a timeline of African history dating back to 5500 B.C.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park in atlanta, just 10 minutes away by foot, is an excellent complement to your visit to this gem. To start, book a free tour of Dr. King's birth home at the MLK visitor center, and then proceed to the Apex Museum while you're waiting.
